National commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has announced the appointment of a new associate director in its Birmingham team.

Luke Sutton, who works in the valuation team, has been promoted from senior surveyor to associate director.

He joined the company in January 2013 as a graduate surveyor, moving to a surveyor role the following year when he became MRICS qualified, passing the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

He specialises in a range of commercial and residential valuations and has particular expertise in development viability work.

Adam Ramshaw, head of Birmingham and East Midlands, said: “It’s been a superb year for the LSH Birmingham office and I’m delighted to announce Luke’s promotion, which is well deserved.

“We pride ourselves on providing exceptional support to all our staff and Luke, like so many others at LSH, joined us early in his career and has gone from strength to strength, progressing within the company.”

Luke, a RICS registered valuer, said: “It’s exciting to be given the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and I’m very pleased to have progressed from graduate surveyor to this senior role in the team. I’m looking forward to the new challenges that this will give me.”

Luke, who attained a BSc (Hons) Real Estate from Birmingham City University, joined LSH from Bruton Knowles. Since working at LSH he has undertaken a wide variety of work, focusing on development viability work and loan security valuations for a number of private and public sector clients.
