Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has scooped a prestigious award for the fifth year running.
The Salisbury-based firm covering the central southern region has again won the title of Most Active Agency in Wiltshire.
And one member of the team, Partner Dean Speer, was named the top individual deal maker in the county.
Deals covering 450,000 sq ft of commercial and £14 million of freehold sales helped Myddelton & Major retain the title.
The coveted awards came from Estates Gazette, the respected national online and weekly publication covering the whole of the UK commercial property industry.
The success was based on the number of retail, office and industrial deals completed across the county during the past year.
Myddelton & Major completed 160 deals covering in excess of 450,000 sq ft of commercial space in Wiltshire. Freehold sales totalled more than £14 million and the rent roll amounted to just under £2.5 million.
The long-established firm’s five-strong Agency Wiltshire commercial team is Philip Holford, Dean Speer, Simon Lee, Rachael Ward and Jody Williams.
Dean said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award for the fifth year running. I am particularly pleased to have the individual award, but it is really down to the team.
“To have won it once was hugely pleasing, but for the firm to be given such an accolade by the leading national industry magazine for five consecutive years really is amazing.
“It is testament to the loyalty, skill and dedication of our brilliant team at Myddelton & Major.
“Their hard work has, as ever, been consistently excellent in delivering the best possible service to both vendors and purchasers.”
He added: “Our results this year – ranging from the smallest corner shop to large greenfield developments – show that we remain a trusted advisor to so many people in the commercial property business.”
Successful deals have included land at Solstice Park, Amesbury, factory/warehouse units at High Post Business Park, Salisbury, a new office development at Glasshouse Studios, Fordingbridge, land and industrial units at Commerce Park, Frome, as well as a large number of individual property deals carried out on the likes of Churchfields Industrial Estate, Harnham Trading Estate, Glenmore Business Park, Old Sarum, Salisbury and West Wilts Business Park, Westbury and Dean Hill Park, West Dean.
The Retail Agency remains a significant part of the business, not just in Wiltshire, but across Hampshire and Dorset with a large number of successful lettings and sales during 2016.
Most of the transactions were in South Wiltshire, around Salisbury/Amesbury, but Myddelton & Major also acted on commercial properties in West Wiltshire, Warminster, Westbury, Frome, down into Dorset across Somerset and in West Hampshire.
