The Medical Protection Society (MPS) has secured additional office space following a freehold acquisition of 1 Victoria Place along the vibrant Leeds South Bank.
MPS, who acquired the neighbouring freeholds at 2 and 3 Victoria Place in 2012, recently purchased the vacant space in the gated office development in an off-market deal. This will provide MPS with an additional 23,000 sq ft and brings its total floor space across the three buildings to 70,000 sq ft.
Howard Kew, Finance Director at MPS, commented: “MPS holds property assets on behalf of our members and this acquisition allows us to invest in an area where we see considerable potential. Importantly, it will also allow us to house staff who have joined us in the last 12 months in a single location as close as possible to our existing offices. This will help us in providing a first class service to our members.”
Jeff Pearey, Director of office agency at JLL who advised MPS on the acquisition, added: “This Grade A building has undergone an extensive refurbishment which provides fantastic space as well as flexible floor plates that can accommodate future expansion. With the opening of the new southern entrance to the train station and further potential for redevelopment of the South Bank, this strategic acquisition demonstrates MPS’s commitment to this part of Leeds.”
Rockstar Games, an existing occupier within 1 Victoria Place, will remain and is unaffected by this transaction.
Additional space, surplus to MPS’s needs, will likely be marketed in due course.
