MediaCom Birmingham has moved into new Birmingham city centre offices at The Grand, on Colmore Row.
The global content and connection agency’s Birmingham team has agreed a five-year lease on three office suites, totaling 3,729 sq ft, on the first floor at Imperial & Whitehall, the office element of the Grade II* listed The Grand, which is being renovated by owner Hortons’ Estate Limited.
MediaCom Birmingham is one of 125 MediaCom offices around the world and employs 25 people at its Midlands base. It is relocating from the Innovation Centre in Longbridge, Birmingham.
Paul Bramwell, managing director of MediaCom Birmingham, said: “Our new office is stunning and is the next step for us as we celebrate continued growth. In our previous office we doubled in size and our new base supports our expansion plan as it has the capacity to accommodate an additional 20 members of staff.
“The finish of the office is exceptional, combining the best characteristics of an old building with the advantages of a contemporary fit out. It is an innovative and inspiring environment to work in, with lots of interesting features, including a ‘secret’ office hidden behind a concealed bookcase.”
Paul added: “The new office is in the professional district of Birmingham, with law firms and accountancy practices in close proximity, so it puts us right in the hub of the business community in Birmingham. Our new central location will be an advantage during our recruitment drive as it will help us to attract the best talent in the Midlands area.”
As part of the multi-million-pound redevelopment, Hortons’ has invested more than £1.5million in refurbishing the office space.
Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “MediaCom is major player in the media and communications industry and we’re delighted to have such a globally recognised brand on our tenant roster.”
Hortons’ Estate Limited has also agreed a five-year lease on a further two office suites on the first floor, totaling 462 sq ft, with private medical practice Lister Medical Group Limited.
Earlier this year, CNA Hardy and Node became the first tenants to move into Imperial & Whitehall. The lettings to MediaCom and Lister Medical Group mean that just six suites remain, ranging in size from 207-2,228 sq ft.
The suites have been comprehensively refurbished to bring them up to modern occupier standards, while retaining some of the original period features.
New features include video entry system, air conditioning, network cabling and superfast broadband, as well as communal kitchen facilities on each floor, shower room facilities and a newly installed passenger lift.
High ceilings, tiled fireplaces, refurbished timber sash windows and exposed brickwork have been retained, while contemporary modern fittings, including lighting and ironmongery, have been installed.
Johnson Fellows and Lambert Smith Hampton are joint lettings agents.
