Furniture firm Sofas Express has snapped up Athena House in Quedgeley as a new distribution centre following a deal brokered by Bruton Knowles.
The detached warehouse with offices and rear yard covers a total of 43,000 sq ft and is situated on Olympus Park off Bristol Road. It was on the market at £2.45m.
Robert Smith from Bruton Knowles said the sale represented one of the largest second hand buildings to be sold deals in Gloucester in recent years.
“Distribution facilities close to the road networks and motorways are much in demand and Athena House offers modern space just three miles from the M5.
“There was keen interest in this building and I could have sold it a couple of times over.”
The property includes a large warehouse space with an open mezannine storage and office area.
