Leading property consultancy CBRE has announced it has secured a new letting to the Gym Group on the first floor of the Sainsbury’s Superstore in Murrayfield, Edinburgh.
The Gym Group has agreed to a new 15 years sub-lease at a rental of £120,000 per annum subject to five yearly upward only rent reviews. The first floor extends to 11,200 sq ft and has a dedicated entrance towards the front of the store. It is expected to be open from before Christmas.
The Gym Group is a rapidly expanding affordable, high-specification 24/7 gym operator with various outlets nationwide. This will be its second offering in Edinburgh with the first one based in Waverley Gate.
Callum Mortimer, director in CBRE’s Retail team, said: “The accommodation lends itself well to a gym operator given its accessibility, layout and location beside a supermarket anchor with car parking. We approached and had discussions with various gym operators in order to secure the best possible terms on behalf of Sainsbury’s. The gym complements the Sainsbury’s store well and I am confident it will be a major success in this densely populated location.”
CBRE represented the head tenant Sainsbury’s whilst the Gym Group was represented by Cushman and Wakefield.
