Luton has attracted more investment and new jobs with the arrival of ambitious promotions and marketing specialists Lesmar, leading commercial property consultancy Kirkby Diamond has announced.
Lesmar, which has been creating innovative branded merchandise since 1947, has agreed a five-year lease on 5,440 sq ft offices at The Atrium in Luton town centre.
The deal, with an agreed rent of £12.50 per sq ft, was negotiated by Kirkby Diamond partner and head of agency Eamon Kennedy on behalf of landlord Chamberlain Holdings.

The deal demonstrates Luton’s growing ability to attract investment and businesses that want to relocate to an area that offers excellent transport links and greater value for money than other locations in London and the south east, according to Eamon.
“There is a real shortage of good quality offices in Luton and demand is increasing which is leading to higher rent levels. This lack of stock, due in part to the Permitted Development Rights (PDR), which has encouraged the conversion of offices into homes, has led to rents rising by up to 25%.
“PDR has had a positive effect on Luton because it has kick-started development activity in the office market and taken obsolete stock out of the system. There are a lot of positive signs in the Luton office market at the moment and we’re seeing companies move up the M1 because they are attracted by the major investment and regeneration activity in the region,” he added.
