Law firm Ashfords LLP’s Bristol-based corporate team has advised NESTA, an independent body with a mission to make the UK more innovative, on its investment in Playmob, the company behind Giverboard, a fundraising technology that links computer game players to charities.
Playmob can now expand its team as a result of the funding, provided by NESTA, Midven and a number of angel investors. The pioneering Giverboard technology allows users to fundraise for charity by purchasing virtual items within computer games.
The Ashfords corporate team was led by Senior Associate Chris Dyson.
Chris said: “In the current economic climate the role of entrepreneurs is especially important and NESTA are dedicated to encouraging innovation. We were pleased to be able to assist NESTA in this investment and wish Playmob well with their continued expansion.”
