Leading property consultancy Kirkby Diamond has boosted its building surveying team with the appointment of a chartered building surveyor.
Steve Unwin, aged 46, joins the team after gaining 17 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors, including eight years at Thames Valley Police and six years at the Ministry of Defence.
He will undertake a range of building surveying services, including schedules of condition, building surveys, dilapidation and party wall matters for commercial properties.
He will also work on project management roles for commercial and residential clients, taking projects from inception through to completion, as well as building surveys, party wall matters and diagnostic inspections for residential clients.
“I’ve watched Kirkby Diamond grow to be a real tour de force in the property sector, which made the offer to move there all the more attractive,” said Steve.
“It has an impressive portfolio of clients and a positive can-do attitude, which I was keen to be part of. I’m looking forward to this next stage of my career with the consultancy.”
Welcoming Steve to the team, Mark Pepper, partner, head of building surveying at Kirkby Diamond, said: “Steve’s appointment bolsters our building surveying team and with new opportunities on the horizon, we feel we are now in an even better position to deliver the service our clients rightly deserve.”
Award-winning Kirkby Diamond, which in the summer was named as Bedfordshire’s leading commercial property agents for the fourth year running by the highly respected national property publication Estates Gazette, has three offices: Milton Keynes, Luton, and Bedford.
“With the growth of all three of our offices, the department has had to evolve to keep up with the demand placed upon it,” added Mark.
