Mazars, the leading international tax, accountancy and advisory firm, is pleased to announce six new partners in its UK practice.
The firm has promoted five partners and one partner is transferring to the UK from the firms’ Singapore office to the UK.
The appointments span a number of practices including audit, tax and outsourcing and reflect the firms’ ongoing investment in its core markets, including financial services and large corporates. Financial advisory services has experienced strong growth in recent years and we are pleased to welcome an additional partner in outsourcing, supporting clients as they grow internationally.

Following these appointments, Mazars UK now has over 140 partners and 1700 staff.
The new partners are:
Amanda Barker – Financial Services Audit (London)
Amanda is an audit partner based in London, specialising in insurance. Amanda joined Mazars in 1999 as a graduate trainee. She transferred to London’s Financial Services audit team in 2013 after spending a number of years managing the Financial Services offering in the Central region. Since then, she has become a key member of the team, specialising in insurance and leading the provision of services in our insurance intermediary practice. She has consistently delivered excellent client service by supporting her wide range of clients, who operate in a complex and evolving regulatory environment; throughout their life cycles, from new start-ups to growing and mature businesses.
Stephen Brown – Financial Services Tax (London)
Stephen is a corporate tax partner based in London. Stephen joined Mazars in 2011 having spent the previous 10 years with HMRC where he had worked across the Financial Services Sectors of their Large Business Service (LBS). He has been leading the insurance tax offering for the past year and works with a variety of clients from privately owned businesses to large listed groups. Stephen has also been part of the Mazars Global Team responding to the OECD on its Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) consultations.
Louis Burns – External audit (Birmingham)
Louis is an audit partner based in Birmingham. Since joining Mazars in 2010, Louis has been specialising in the development and delivery of external audit services to multinational and listed businesses as well as significant inbound referrals. He leads the Central region’s business development activities in relation to small and medium listed businesses.
Francois Monville – French Inbound Market (London)
Francois transfers to London from Mazars Asia Pacific, where he spent the past seven years supporting the regional development in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Francois has extensive experience within Mazars’ globally integrated partnership having acted as Managing Partner for Hungary, Indonesia and the Philippines. Upon joining the London offices, Francois will assume the role of Hub Partner for the French mid-market helping French companies looking to expand into the UK.
Vesko Petkov – Tax (Birmingham)
Vesko is a corporate tax partner based in Birmingham. Prior to joining Mazars three years ago, Vesko spent 5 years at a big 4 practice and worked in London in a global private equity firm and in a global listed group. He leads the firm’s Corporate & International Tax offering across the Midlands whilst also working to further develop the Corporate & International tax practice nationally and internationally. His client base includes a number of leading private equity and global listed companies, and he has experience working with industries including leisure and hospitality, automotive, manufacturing and services.
James Smalley – Outsourcing (Sutton)
James is a partner in our Outsourcing team, based in Sutton. He joined the firm as a graduate in 1998 and is a key member of the National Accounting and Outsourcing team. He specialises in finding and developing technology enabled solutions, to deliver efficient and high quality services to our clients. James works with a wide range of fast growth clients looking to simplify their compliance requirements and increase their financial visibility as they grow internationally.
