A deal brokered by commercial property specialist Vail Williams will see work on a Southern Co-operative local convenience store in Southampton’s West End get underway ahead of its launch early next year – following a range of professional expertise and guidance from all areas of the team.
Vail Williams secured a lease for the new 400 sq m single-storey store. Developed by landlord Robert Sperring, the site was formally occupied by a Tesco and a fast food outlet which have now been removed to make way for the new Southern Co-operative store – a high quality building to occupy a well-known area of this part of Southampton.
Vail Williams has used its regional expertise and local knowledge to secure the prominent location, and has applied an integrated approach to provide support in a range of areas and disciplines, including planning, property asset management and building consultancy, to help get this project off the ground.

This location in Southampton’s West End is perfect for the convenience store and will be a welcome addition to the community. It is an ideal replacement for Tesco and we hope that residents enjoy the new facility when it launches next year.”

Hampshire based Mildren Construction won the tender to build the new store, and Southampton architects Boyle and Summers designed the building.
