Chartered Surveyor Banks Long & Co has announced the appointment of a new management surveyor.
Yorkshire-born Matt Tyler joined the Lincoln firm after spending the past four years working as a Home Ownership Officer for Sanctuary Housing, a National Housing Association, where he was responsible for managing Shared Ownership and Leasehold housing stock across Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
“After going to University in Manchester and getting a degree in criminology, I joined Greater Manchester Police to carry out my training as a Police Officer. After spending some time on the beat, I decided the job wasn’t for me and from there I went to work in the housing sector,” said Matt.
“During my time at Sanctuary Housing, whilst thinking about my future career direction, I decided I would like to become a Chartered Surveyor so I completed a RICS accredited Post-graduate Diploma in Surveying at the College of Estate Management in Reading.
“Joining Banks Long & Co marks a natural career progression for me. I was keen to join an independent professional practice with a good reputation. At Banks Long & Co, I have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in looking after a varied portfolio of commercial properties across the East Midlands.”
In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing football and has a passion for travel, cooking and eating out.
