Colliers International’s Licensed & Leisure team in Birmingham has advised on the completion of a new lease to Pure Gym at One Snow Hill Plaza in Birmingham city centre.
The ‘no frills’ fitness club brand has taken a 17,500 sq ft unit on the ground and first floor of One Snow Hill Plaza. The development is home to the 133-bedroom Royal Angus Hotel, which earlier this year lodged a planning application to double the capacity of the hotel to 226 rooms, adding a further two storeys, introducing of a gym operator and carrying out a general refurbishment throughout the building.
Paul Hands, Director, Licensed & Leisure, Colliers International in Birmingham, said: “Acting on behalf of the landlord, Horseferry Developments LLP, which is a subsidiary of Downing Private Equity, we are pleased to have secured a leisure operator for the site that will help to maximise the potential of The Royal Angus Hotel.”
The improvements to One Snow Hill Plaza are in line with a £600 million Masterplan, introduced by Birmingham city leaders last year, which will see the area around Snow Hill station transformed with creation of new offices, residential accommodation and public space over the next 20 years.
