Leading property consultant CBRE has announced it has secured Therapie as a tenant for 77 Lothian Road in Edinburgh, representing its first clinic in Scotland.
Therapie Clinic, which alongside Optilase is part of the Fellerim group, Ireland’s largest aesthetic and laser eye clinic, has taken 1,255 sq ft of space across the basement and ground floors at 77 Lothian Road on a ten year lease.
Founded in Dublin in 2001, Therapie has 15 clinics across Ireland and Northern Ireland. With an ethos of providing high quality results through renowned specialist customer service at affordable prices, Therapie has quickly grown in popularity and size.
As part of an ambitious growth strategy, the company plans to roll out its brand on a global scale through acquisition and franchises. Therapie plans to use its first Scottish clinic to offer a range of non-surgical and surgical treatments from laser hair removal, botox and fillers and hair restoration.
Commenting on the letting, Anna Hansen from CBRE Scotland’s Retail team said: “After a string of success in Ireland, it is great news for Edinburgh that Therapie has acquired its first Scottish store in the capital city. The property on Lothian Road will offer the company fantastic accessibility for clients, with easy access to public bus and rail transport links, including Haymarket and Edinburgh Waverly Railway Stations. I am excited to work with Therapie in order to fulfill its ambitious expansion plans over the next few years.”
Phillip McGlade, managing director of Therapie, added: “It is great news that we can finally announce our expansion plans for the rest of the UK. We’ve chosen Scotland, and specifically Edinburgh, for our first outlet outside of Ireland because we identified a gap in the market for high quality treatments at affordable prices.
“The unit on Lothian Road is ideal due its central location and close proximity to popular shopping destinations and transport links. We can’t wait to start trading in October.
“Our longer term plans are to open more outlets in Scotland and within the next three years expand into England.”
CBRE represented Therapie whilst Eric Young & Co acted for the landlord Thistle Peat Ltd.
