The Forum for the Built Environment (fbe) has elected Peter McHugh, a construction law specialist and Partner at law firm Challinors, as Chair of its Birmingham branch.
A Chartered Arbitrator, Accredited Mediator, property dispute resolution and Professional Negligence claims specialist with over 20 years construction sector experience, Peter takes over from former Chair Will Evans.
Peter has pledged that as the fbe’s Birmingham Chair, he will maximise the role and benefits of the Forum to the Birmingham and West Midlands’ business and construction community:
“It is vital that the fbe provides business opportunities for its members, and shines a spotlight on the enormous wealth of expertise and organisations working within the Birmingham and wider West Midlands’ construction and property sectors,” he said.
The fbe in Birmingham hosts regular forums and events for members, which includes many of Birmingham and the regions’ leading construction contractors, developers and consultants.
Its flagship event for 2012 is the ‘UK Construction Market – The Problems/The Solution’ event at The Hyatt Birmingham on the 31st May.
“Labour Shadow Construction Minister Iain Wright MP will be keynote speaker at the event,” explains Peter, “with other speakers and attendees already confirmed including Alan Charters, Director of Capital Developments at Aston University.”
