Construction industry cable management specialist Cable Management Centre (CMC) has moved to new premises in Lewis Road in Cardiff Bay.
The company was founded in 1994 and supplies mechanical and electrical contractors and heating, vent, and air conditioning installers. It was acquired by Edmundson Electrical in 2008.
It has taken a 10 year lease on 7,000 sq ft of warehouse space at an annual rental of £30,000. The owner – TB Davies (Cardiff) Limited – acquired the 3.5 acre site with 48,000 sq ft of offices and warehousing for £2.2m last year to house its own fast-growing ladders and access equipment business.
Brian Bailey, assistant property manager for CMC commented: “The space will allow room for enhanced stock holding and will incorporate a new trade counter collection facility.”
The Cardiff office of Knight Frank advised TB Davies in the transaction. Neil Francis, partner in the industrial agency team of Knight Frank added: “CMC Cardiff has continued its strategy of growth and has been rewarded with an ever-increasing customer base within the immediate area and beyond.
“Having also advised the vendor during the sale of the overall Lewis Road site to TB Davies last year we were very happy to help TB Davies find new tenants for excess capacity on the site.
“As well as the 7,000 sq ft let to CMC, we have a further 7,000 sq ft of space under offer with the remaining warehouse being used as storage by our client.”
