Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, is extending its presence at Real Estate Investors’ Gateway House in Birmingham city centre.
Already on the fourth floor, it has signed a ten year lease to take the whole of the fifth too.
Earlier this year health food chain Holland & Barrett opened a new store at ground and first floor level at the 50-53 High Street complex.
The second floor is currently being refurbished ready for letting.
Ian Clark, senior asset manager at REI, said: “This shows confidence remains high in both Gateway House itself and the wider commercial property market.
“Gateway House is well positioned close to the Bullring, High Street and in the longer term, access to HS2 high speed rail.”
It means Shelter will have taken a total of 8,000 sq ft in the building.
REI contributed towards fit-out costs.
Next to Marks & Spencer, Gateway House, with an overall size of 27,000 sq ft, enjoys a large footfall.
Learndirect, the UK’s largest provider of skills, training and employment services, is a third tenant.
