Coventry and Warwickshire’s leading professionals are set to be recognised after the shortlist for the 2012 FirstPro Professional of the Year Awards was announced.
A total of 21 professionals in five categories have been shortlisted for the awards, organised by Coventry and Warwickshire First.
Categories include business, professional, financial, legal and property services as well as young professional of the year. The top accolade of Coventry and Warwickshire Professional of the Year will be chosen from the five category winners.
Judging will take place on April, 17 and the panel includes Phil Ewing, of Harrison Beale & Owen, Daniel Gidney, of the Ricoh Arena, and Brian Harrabin, from CDP.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony, sponsored by Santander, Aon, Friargate and HB&O, on April 26 at the Ricoh Arena.
Phil Ewing, who is also Coventry and Warwickshire First chair, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight and celebrate the best of the professions in Coventry and Warwickshire.
“I believe we have a professional sector which rivals any in the country and the calibre of the nominees for these awards supports that belief.
“We are looking forward to the event immensely and we hope to see as many people there as possible.”
The event will also see Top Gear Live and Taste events creator Chris Hughes talk about his experiences organising events such as Taste of London. There will also be a charity draw to raise funds for Chris’ charity Events for Namuwongo – a Ugandan Village which Chris has pledged to help develop – and prizes will include tickets to Top Gear Live, CarFest and Taste of London.
