Work has been completed on the new state-of-the-art UK headquarters for leading global cleaning equipment manufacturer Kärcher, in Banbury.
The new headquarters, which is situated on a 6.5 acre site, close to Junction 11 of the M40, will be ready for the 300-strong team to move in this autumn.
The German company, which makes a range of cleaning equipment for both consumers and commercial users, will move to the new 84,500 sq ft complex at Banbury Point in Banbury this September.
The project has been completed by AC Lloyd, the Leamington-based development company which owned the site, development management company Minns Network Developments and Essex-based Readie Construction
Des Wynne, Director at AC Lloyd, said: “We worked closely with Kärcher from the outset to produce this high profile landmark building to its specific requirements, and we are particularly pleased to have had the opportunity of assisting the growth of this successful international company.
“Not only that – we completed the project on time and on budget. It is almost double the size of Kärcher’s current headquarters on Beaumont Road in the town, and features three-storey offices, a retail centre and training/customer academy with a warehouse/workshop section to the rear – all to accommodate a rapidly growing business.”
Kärcher, a family-run firm, marked its 80th anniversary last year and has been in Banbury since 1978 – when it employed just eight people in the UK.
Julia Streeter, Operations Director at Kärcher, said: “We’re delighted that the construction has now been completed and the new building looks fabulous.
“This new headquarters will be a very different environment and will reflect the advances the company has made and its plans for the future.
“We are growing rapidly but remaining close to our Banbury roots has always been at the centre of our plans due to the expertise and loyalty of our staff.
“Final fit-out on the site will be completed by September, ready for our expanding team to move into.”
