A fast growing firm that manufactures and supplies specialist medical equipment is on course to create more jobs following a move to new premises on Hereford’s Enterprise Zone.
MedDX Solutions, which supplies diagnostic sample collection and transport kits to the public and private healthcare sector, has become the first occupier of the £1.6m Skylon Place development on Hursey Road in Rotherwas.
The company, which began in 2013, relocated to Skylon Place from premises just outside Hereford with 12 employees. There are plans to recruit a further eight people before the end of the year.
As founder and Director Richard Senior explained, it’s a move that has already helped to secure new business.
“We were looking for an environment that would reflect the high quality of our products and service and that was what we found at Skylon Place,” he said.
“We worked closely with the Enterprise Zone to tailor the premises to meet our own blueprint so that we could enjoy a seamless transition. That was one of the major benefits of choosing a move to Skylon Place.
“Shortly after moving here we secured new business with a client who was very impressed by our operation. It is an important factor for us that our facility reflects the quality of our business and we have achieved this at Skylon Place.”
Chairman of the Zone, Bill Jackson, said: “We are delighted that the move to Skylon Place has been such a positive one for MedDX Solutions.
“By working with the directors from an early stage, we were able to create a facility that was built around their needs and has given their business the chance to grow and thrive.”
Skylon Place complements Skylon Court, a development of high quality business space, workshops and flexible units, which is already fully let less than six months after completion.
Skylon Park is already home to a regional centre for Western Power Distribution and construction industry supplier Marches Global. Beck Products, a leading UK supplier to the construction and horticultural industries, also has a base on the Park.
Businesses moving onto Skylon Park can benefit from a range of incentives including simplified and free planning, superfast and ultrafast broadband and business rates relief.
