Chris Handy has joined SDL Bigwood as a graduate commercial property manager.
Involved in the offices, industrial estates and shops sector, he had been working at a property consultancy in Stoke-on-Trent for several months when the job call came through, having impressed in a previous work experience role.
He said: “I had spoken to a number of friends who recommended property surveying as a career and the work experience spell confirmed that, so I was thrilled to be given the chance to return so soon afterwards.”
Brian Bentley, executive partner, commercial management, said: “Chris was very keen to learn, we liked his attitude, and we were pleased to be able to offer him a position.”
Mr Handy attended Northicote School in Wolverhampton, Halesowen College, and then took a law degree at Liverpool John Moores University.
He is now doing a distance learning conversion degree, MSc Real Estate, via the University College of Estate Management in Reading, while at the same time studying for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ Assessment of Professional Competence qualification.
