A Coventry IT firm, which specialises in software for the logistics industry, has doubled in size following dramatic and sustained growth for more than three years.
Trutac, based at Westwood House on Westwood Business Park, specialises in providing software to the road haulage and bus and coach industries to enable them to manage their compliance and driver hours.
The company was first established 22 years ago but following the major release of their updated software – TruControl and TruControl PSV – designed for the industry in 2013, the company has more than doubled its client base.
Now analysing in excess of one million driver duties each month – up from around 500,000 three years ago – for clients ranging from local SMEs with a small fleet through to market-leading firms such as National Express and Calor, Trutac’s workforce has increased by more than 30 per cent to cater for the extra demand.
To accommodate the growing team, which now makes up more than 30 people, the firm has taken another unit on Westwood Business Park which will allow Trutac to expand its training operations and sales and support team.
The company was assisted with its expansion, which consists of a further 2,500 sq ft of office space, by Coventry commercial property consultants D&P Holt.
Terry Ramsay, managing director of Trutac, said: “For a sustained period now Trutac has been consistently increasing its work and client base.
“Word of mouth is out there that our software helps businesses improve compliance and save money on operations, and we now receive as many incoming enquiries as we raise from telesales.
“So to accommodate the extra demand and ensure we have the capacity to continue growing, we recognised a need to move to bigger premises.
“This has been the third time we’ve secured a deal with the assistance of D&P Holt, who we’ve always found to be extremely professional in all of our dealings.
“Their strength is in their communications and ability to secure an agreement which suits both parties, so when the time came for another expansion, we naturally approached them.
“The extra office space will be vital in helping us to expand in line with our growth plans, as we grow the business and strengthen our roots here in Coventry.”
D&P Holt has maintained a close relationship with Trutac for a number of years after having assisted in deals which have helped the firm expand their office space three times in as many years.
Nick Holt, senior surveyor of D&P Holt which is based in Warwick Row, said the company is delighted to have found an expansion that was the right fit for Trutac.
He said: “Trutac is an established firm in the city and has been based here since its launch more than 20 years ago. As such, it is fantastic to have supported them as they continue to invest and grow in the region.”
