Utilities connections specialist, Energetics, has announced three key appointments for its new Coleshill office/ major depot, as the company continues to put its Midlands expansion plans into action.
The force behind the electrical infrastructure at the £100 million New Street Gateway project, Energetics is an independent company which owns and operates more than 1,000 utility networks across the UK. Headquartered in Glasgow and with an office/ major depot in Warrington, the company continued its march down south at the end of last year with a new Midlands office/ major depot in Coleshill, North Warwickshire.
Energetics has boosted its Coleshill-based team with the appointments of Sally Appleyard, from Tamworth, who joins the company as Sales Manager. Jackie Morgan, from Coventry, and Darryl New, from Leicester, have both been appointed as Project Managers.
Bill McSheffery, Major Developments Manager for Energetics, said: “Energetics is building on its presence in the Midlands by recruiting a strong team with the ambition and determination to really make an impact in a competitive marketplace.
“These latest appointments demonstrate Energetics’ ongoing commitment to growth and expansion – and we are not stopping here. This year, we will be focused on our target of increasing the number of electricity and gas connections we make in the region by a third, and with the right team in place Energetics is in pole position to capitalise on all opportunities.”
Sally Appleyard brings almost 29 years of experience with the regions host Distribution Network Operator (DNO) in the utility market to her role as Sales Manager, with more than a decade spent working in multi utility connections. Sally’s remit will include increasing Energetics’ housing customer base in the Midlands and securing new contracts, while also managing key customer relationships.
Sally said: “I joined Energetics as I was attracted by the opportunity to work for a relatively new entrant to the Midlands market. I believe the company can offer best value to many of the customers I have spent my career working with, while also delivering a product and service that meets high customer expectations.
“In my new role I will be developing new customer relationships and building on those which I have been nurturing for decades. The customer really is at the heart of what we do and I will also be ensuring that service levels are upheld to the highest standards throughout the customer journey.”
Project Manager, Jackie Morgan, also has a wealth of experience in the utilities sector, having spent more than 26 years in the industry. Jackie’s new role will involve ongoing customer liaison and all aspects of contract management, from booking the work programme and ordering materials, to ensuring the services are installed on time and within budget.
Jackie said: “I was keen to join Energetics as there is a real buzz around the company – people in the construction and utility sector are really starting to sit up and take notice of Energetics. I wanted to be part of the company’s success story from such an early stage and I am looking forward to taking on such a dynamic role, working closely with customers and with so many people within Energetics, from administrators to on site technicians.”
Darryl New also joins the company as a project manager, with the same remit as Jackie. As such he will also take a hands-on approach to making sure contracts are fulfilled and customer requirements are prioritised. Darryl is well placed to do this having worked on several multi-utility projects in the last five years, and with a background in engineering.
Darryl said: “I enjoy working in the utilities sector as you really do get the opportunity to make a difference and to change the physical landscape. This brings with it a great sense of achievement and as a project manager, you also get the opportunity to with so many different people – no two days are ever the same. I am inspired by the Energetics’ ambition to be the best, and in my new role I hope to play a part in making the company’s vision for growth become a reality.”
Headquartered in Glasgow, Energetics competes with industry giants such as Scottish Power, Scottish and Southern Energy and UK Power Networks. The company is designing and installing the electricity, gas and water infrastructure for many of the major residential and industrial/ commercial developers across the UK including St. Modwen, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt and Redrow.
