Shopping centre owner intu’s long term strategy to attract new visitors to London’s largest borough is continuing with four more vibrant retailers forming part of intu Bromley’s revitalised retail and leisure offer.
British lifestyle brand Joules, worldwide holiday company Kuoni, fashion accessories retailer Lovisa and American footwear company Skechers have all taken space at intu Bromley ahead of a new alfresco dining scheme opening at the centre in July.
Last year intu Bromley underwent an extensive refurbishment and started construction work on a new restaurant expansion overlooking Queens Garden in Bromley. A number of high profile aspirational brands have since signed up for space, taking advantage of the centre’s annual footfall of 18 million and prosperous customer base, with 90% of visitors drawn from the most affluent ABC1 socio-economic group across London and Kent.
Rebecca Ryman, regional director of intu, said: “We’re investing heavily in Bromley with our recent mall refurbishment and new restaurant expansion and this is clearly paying off with a number of exciting and high profile retailers selecting our centre as the right location to attract affluent shoppers from central London and the south east.
“We want to make sure Bromley continues to thrive by ensuring that it remains an attractive alternative to other major shopping destinations nearby. Our revitalised mix of brands at the centre will play a crucial role in encouraging customers to come from further and stay for longer and this in turn helps all our retailers to flourish.”
David Ball, Retail Property Acquisitions Manager at Joules which is due to open in July, said: “We’re excited to be in Bromley for the first time. It’s exactly the right space to bring our unique personality and style to shoppers and a key location in our continued strategy to grow our core UK market.”
Helen Fensom, Store Manager at Kuoni intu Bromley which opened in May, said: “Our new store is the ideal space for our passionate team to share their experiences and knowledge with a number of holidaymakers living in London and Kent. We’re pleased to be in the area providing the very best service and environment and creating long-standing memories for anyone that walks through the door.”
Joules has taken 1,754 sq ft, Kuoni 1,528 sq ft, Lovisa 656 sq ft, and Skechers 2,475 sq ft. It is the second UK store for Lovisa, which has more than 200 stores globally.
