Belfast-based luxury interior fit-out specialists, Portview have underlined their world-class credentials by winning a major prize in the Global Retail Leisure Interiors (RLI) award in London.
Portview, who work for some of the world’s top luxury brands throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, picked up the Interior Excellence Award for their work at Harvey Nichols’ concept store in Birmingham. Meanwhile Harvey Nichols won the Retail Excellence Award for the same project.
Portview Managing Director, Simon Campbell said: “The accolades offer further testament to the appeal, calibre and luxury that has become synonymous with our growing reputation as the go-to fit-out company for some of the world’s best-known high-end brands.
“The highly acclaimed Harvey Nichols’ store in Birmingham, where our expert team delivered the fit-out, is to be the blueprint for all future Harvey Nichols branches.”
In winning the Interior Excellence Award the judges were won over by the joint teams’ efforts in pulling off an ambitious and radical approach with such incredible results.
Cutting-edge features of the project included a large digital screen, used as an innovative alternative to store windows, to showcase the dynamic and exciting world of merchandise within – effectively luring customers into the store.
Carlos Virgile, Director of Project Designers, Virgile + Partners, said:
“The design approach aimed to break rules and challenge the predictable imagery and established principles that define luxury shopping environments, replacing them with a new visual vocabulary – more experimental, unconventional and creative – where style and technology work together seamlessly.”
Simon Campbell, concluded:
“We are proud to work with internationally significant brands such as Harvey Nichols and delighted that our work with them has been recognised with another global award. The competition for this award was extremely strong as always, and we will be proud holders for the coming year.”
