Bilfinger GVA has advised on the acquisition of the former Mercedes Benz Dealership on Bury Old Road in Whitefield, Manchester, for Vets Now Ltd.
The national veterinary practice will take over the dealership, which will be transformed into a 24-hour, out-of-hours and referral emergency animal hospital.
A sub-lease of 15 years, with a break at 10 years, has been agreed and the rental is set at £130,677 per annum.
Hayley Knight from Bilfinger GVA’s Manchester planning team acted in facilitating a change of use from the existing motor trade to a Sui Generis use. The application was supported by the local community.
Ruth Leighton, Associate Director at Bilfinger GVA, made the acquisition on behalf of Vets Now.
Ruth said: “This is a key acquisition for Vets Now Ltd. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Vets Now to roll out a number of clinics across the country.
“The Whitefield site suits their needs ideally because it is well connected via main transport routes and is easily accessible to obtain emergency animal care.”
Mark Ross, Managing Director of Vets Now Ltd, said: “We are very excited about our new venture in North Manchester and we will be investing significant capital into the site to create a state-of-the-art facility.
“Bilfinger GVA has been instrumental in identifying the site, acquiring and providing strategic planning advice.
“In the pipeline, we have a number of further key locations identified and look forward to working with Ruth and the team at Bilfinger GVA to secure the best sites.”
