Kings Hill came under the national spotlight when some of London’s leading commercial agents visited for a tour of the business park and a round of golf.
They were looking at the range of office solutions available on behalf of prospective clients wanting to relocate to the area and, said Caroline Binns, associate director, marketing and leasing of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust, they were very impressed.
After a tour of the available office space, residential areas and community amenities the group played nine holes on the Kings Hill golf course followed by lunch in the clubhouse.
One of the group, William Furney, Senior Surveyor in CBRE’s National Office Tenant Advisory Group said: “My first impression of Kings Hill is that it offers much more than your average business park.
“It’s not just the range of quality office accommodation but it also has all the local amenities the modern occupier needs to attract and retain staff and the added benefit of a labour pool on the doorstep. Kings Hill is truly unique in comparison to your average business park offering.”
So far this year Kings Hill has leased 60,000 sq ft of office space with a further 30,000 sq ft in solicitors’ hands. Knight Frank, Altus Group and Hanover Green are instructed to act on the business park.
Kings Hill has also been named one of the UK’s most successful new communities in a report published by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
‘Placemaking and Value’ examined clarity of vision, quality of architecture and design, layout, commercial and community provision, public and private amenity space, transport, parking issues and effective community engagement.
It stated that ‘placemaking has never been more important in creating thriving communities where people genuinely want to live, work and play’ and concluded that Kings Hill residents ‘felt a strong sense of community and attachment to Kings Hill as part of their identity.’
Kings Hill is a 24-hour live, work, play modern garden village and has an established business community, providing jobs, amenities, homes, schools and other community infrastructure all within walking distance. Amenities include an 18 hole golf course, Waitrose and Asda stores plus other convenience retail, three schools, Sports Park, cricket pitch and two gyms including David Lloyd, acres of woodland and open space and many miles of foot and cycle paths.
A new residential neighbourhood is underway, a new primary school – the third at Kings Hill – opened last year and an extension to the community centre, additional allotments, trim trails and pitches for the Kings Hill Sports Park are in the pipeline. Land will also be provided for a place of worship.
Land is also available for further office and business space requirements.
