Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is celebrating smashing through a major milestone after its Birmingham industrial and logistics team completed deals totaling more than one million sq ft in the first five months of the year.
Matt Tilt, head of industrial and logistics at the national commercial property consultancy’s Birmingham office, said reaching the milestone so quickly reflected strong market dynamics and his team’s ability to deliver a first class disposal and acquisition service.
Major disposals concluded already this year include a 240,000 sq ft unit at Witton let to a major parcels distribution company, a 110,000 sq ft pre-let agreed to a logistics company at Redditch, a 102,000 sq ft unit at Fradley Park in Lichfield which has been let to a tiles specialist, and a unit speculatively developed in Minworth extending to 102,750 sq ft.
Key acquisitions include a high specification 107,000 sq ft freehold building at Ansty Business Park in Coventry for a global robotics firm and a 180,000 sq ft leasehold acquisition in Hams Hall Coleshill acquired for a retained retail client.
Matt said: “We are the leading industrial and logistics property advisor in the UK and Ireland and let, sell or acquire around 20 million sq ft of industrial and distribution space every year. That means our clients benefit from our deep understanding of their market and its likely requirements.
“I am delighted that our Birmingham team has been able to complete transactions amounting to more than one million sq ft in the first five months of the year. We are well on course to comfortably surpass 2015 levels of 1.5 million sq ft.
“The achievement demonstrates that our knowledge of the market is very highly regarded by our clients and that they value our advice and support based on experience gained through many years of working with occupiers, developers and landlords.”
With a national network of offices across the UK, LSH can provide detailed, on-the-ground advice for every major town and city, including key distribution markets such as the M1, M6 and M42 corridors. With multi-modality becoming an increasingly important trend in the logistics sector, LSH’s relationships with rail, airport and port operators gives it outstanding insight and enables it to provide expert advice to clients.
LSH works with occupiers and developers alike and is involved in many of the biggest transactions in the distribution market – it has helped Tesco develop its network of national and regional distribution centres and it supports developers such as Prologis and Gazeley in maximising returns on strategic industrial and logistics sites.
LSH also covers the multi-let industrial market and rents and sells small and mid-sized industrial units down to 1,000 sq ft.
