Two former journalists have joined forces to expand a county PR company just three years after it was launched.
Rhea Alton, owner of Journalism and PR, has welcomed Kirsty Smallman as a partner in the company. The two 30-year-old mums both previously worked at the Shropshire Star with Mrs Smallman ending her career as the crime correspondent earlier this month.
Mrs Alton, from Copthorne, Shrewsbury said: “I’m really pleased Kirsty has chosen to join Journalism and PR which now gives the company the chance to represent even more of the sole traders and small businesses across Shropshire.
“We are now looking forward to representing the hidden treasures which we should be shouting about in the county.” Mrs Smallman, from Lawley Village added: “I share Rhea’s passion for the county’s many fantastic sole traders and small businesses but other people do not know enough about them.
“They are often hidden away but offer fantastic services and products which deserve to be hitting the headlines of the media across the county.
“I am looking forward to helping them boost their brand and spreading their good company name and in turn boost their business.
“We have already seen an increase in the number of inquiries and we are only one week into our new partnership.”
They will be holding their next DIY PR training course for sole traders and small and medium enterprises to learn how to hit the headlines with their great news on April 16th from 9am to noon at the e-Innovation Centre, University of Wolverhampton in Priorslee, Telford.
