SEGRO plc (SEGRO) has announced that it has signed up data centre provider, Zenium, to the Slough Trading Estate. Zenium has signed a 25 year lease on a 60,500 sq ft development at 12 Liverpool Road. Zenium is expecting to be fully operational at the development from January 2017.
12 Liverpool Road forms part of SEGRO’s ongoing redevelopment programme at the Slough Trading Estate. The unit was speculatively developed and designed to suit either urban logistics or data centre occupiers. The letting means that all of the speculative developments SEGRO completed at the Slough Trading Estate in 2015 totalling 132,000 sq ft are now fully let.
Franek Sodzawiczny, Founder and CEO at Zenium said: “We are delighted to have seized this opportunity. Zenium will soon be able to offer a quality data centre solution in the UK that fulfils rising demands driven by cloud providers that only consider the most efficient data centres in the world. The decision to build a brand profile in the UK comes with encouragement from existing customers and those we have served in the past – we are excited to be here.”
Paul Lewis, Regional Director for the Thames Valley at SEGRO, said: “Bringing Zenium into our portfolio reinforces the Slough Trading Estate’s position as a prime location for data centre operators, given its close proximity to London, power supply and excellent network connections. We now have 22 data centres on the estate, which goes to show that the Slough Trading Estate is an internationally recognised location for continued inward investment to the region.”
A diverse range of businesses are represented on the Slough Trading Estate including Mars, Ferrari and IO, demonstrating its reputation as a leading location for companies in multiple sectors.
