Nelsons Solicitors’ commercial property department has more than doubled in size in five years, thanks to a growing and reinvigorated confidence in the market.
Partner and solicitor in the team Riaz Dudhia is an expert in commercial property law, having worked at Nelsons for almost 10 years. He said: “Across our three offices, the team has grown from seven to 17 in just five years – with the team growing from four to five in the Nottingham office.
“The market has seen considerable recovery since the recession; there’s more confidence in the industry meaning that developers are more active with an influx of new instructions of late.
“Banks and lenders are also more willing to lend than they were 10 years ago, meaning that finance is much more readily available, providing scope for further growth in the sector. Property is a much more solid investment today and our team is there to protect these investments.”
Nelsons’ three offices, in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, specialise in varying areas of commercial property law – working closely with property developers, supporting investors and systematically tracking the investment market to advise on specific areas of growth where investments would be best made.
In December 2015, the team at the Nottingham office acted on behalf of Roseland Group Limited in its disposal of a multi-let, 105 acre business park in Long Bennington at a consideration of £12,750,000.
“Businesses are seeing the benefits in investing and this confidence is encouraging others, increasing the number of transactions being made. Confidence in the economy is also growing – and rightly so – and I expect this trend to continue into 2016.
“We had a really positive year across the board in 2015 and I predict to see this momentum continue. There are, as with any industry, global unknowns which are contributing factors to the success of the market but with multimillion pound investment purchases increasing and the industry being in such a strong position I can see no reason as to why this positive trajectory will not continue.
“We’re a full service law firm, so have the capacity to cover all aspects of business law – from corporate and business support to employment advice,” added Riaz.
