The Cardiff office of DTZ, part of UGL Services, has agreed a deal which will see DHL Express expand its operations in Newport, south Wales.
DHL Express, the world’s leading express company has taken 42,961 sq ft of space at Unit 3 Tregwilym Road Industrial Estate in Rogerstone on a five year lease.
The unit comprises a detached warehouse with two storey office accommodation, a secure fenced site and will operate as a new service centre. It will replace the smaller site DHL already has at Queensway Meadows Industrial Estate in Newport.
Rob Ladd, Director, DTZ in Cardiff commented: “We are delighted that DHL Express has chosen to grow their presence in Newport at Tregwilym Road. After reviewing a number of options, Unit 3 came out as the clear favourite.”
Ben Hiles, Director of Infrastructure & Engineering at DHL Express said: “This investment will enable us to develop our offering to our customers and strengthen our logistics network in the Newport area. With this increased capacity we can provide additional support to businesses of all sizes in South Wales looking to send shipments internationally.”
The Tregwilym Road Industrial Estate is a popular business location on the outskirts of Rogerstone, approximately two miles north of Junction 28 of the M4 Motorway. Occupiers within the estate include A B Electronics and Ellis Morgan.
DHL recently also took 3,517 sq ft of space at Unit 8, Glan-y-Llyn Industrial Estate in Taffs Well, Cardiff on a three year lease.
