A £1.5m investment programme by the new owners of the South Wales Distribution Centre at Kenfig Industrial Estate, South Wales, is already paying off with the pre-letting of an 80,000 sq ft warehouse at the strategically located Centre, just off junction 38 of the M4.
The letting to a FTSE 100 company is the first since the 497,314 sq ft South Wales Distribution Centre was acquired recently by Westcore Europe. Westcore has embarked upon a £1.5m programme to substantially refurbish the vacant space to attract logistic and industrial occupiers.
Existing tenants at the SWDC, which is located between Cardiff and Swansea, already includes a number of high profile logistical companies and interest levels are high for the remaining vacant space.
Commercial property agents Knight Frank and DLP have been appointed to market the vacant space.
Neil Francis, partner at Knight Frank in Cardiff, said: “Westcore’s commitment in investing in refurbishment of the available space is paying early dividends with the arrival of a major occupier, and we are confident of attracting tenants for the remaining space.
“Units from 30,000 sq ft to 70,000 sq ft of good quality distribution and industrial space remain available, and will be offered at £2.50 per sq ft fully refurbished. In addition, we have an acre of land under offer to another potential occupier. “
Mike Bruce at DLP said: “Kenfig Industrial Estate sits adjacent to the M4, between junctions 37 and 38. It’s a good location with recently-improved road links now giving excellent access to the motorway network.”£1.5m investment by landlord pays off with 80,000 sq ft warehouse pre-letting at Kenfig, South Wales
