Tory Grandee Kenneth Clarke MP shared his forthright views on his time as a Cabinet Minister under Margaret Thatcher, John Major and David Cameron, and his business career, to a sold out Swansea Bay Business Club lunch on Friday, 20th May.
Always a persuasive speaker, Clarke gave a spirited talk on some of the most pressing issues facing the UK and its economy at the moment, to a rapt audience of Swansea business men and women, who were gathered at The Liberty Stadium.
Business Club President Hayley Davies said: “We were delighted to welcome Kenneth Clarke to the Swansea Business Club lunch this week.
“Kenneth has always been a man of conviction and someone who is respected by many on both sides of the House. He shared with us some interesting insights into world economics gleaned from his years of experience in the business world and as a very successful Chancellor of the Exchequer under the then Prime Minister, John Major.
“Swansea Bay Business Club lunches are a great opportunity to hear some really inspirational speakers, to network and to socialise in an informal setting and I would encourage anyone who hasn’t yet joined us to do so in the future. All are welcome to these popular lunches, both members and non-members.”
The next Swansea Bay Business Club Lunch speaker, on 24th June, will be Medwin Hughes, Vice-Chancellor of University of Wales Trinity Saint David. (UWTSD)
