Gurpreet Bassi has been promoted to partner in the auctions department of SDL Bigwood.
Mr Bassi has been with the firm for over nine years.
When he initially joined his primary role was to conduct auction viewings. This then moved on to obtaining auction instructions and to retaining and developing relationships with current and future clients.
Stepping up from associate partner, he has been part of a team that has produced fantastic growth – last year, prior to the company’s acquisition by national property services group Shepherd Direct (now rebranded SDL Group), it sold £77 million worth of property at its six auctions, £15 million up on 2014, a 24 per cent increase.
The firm received a silver medal at the Estate Agency of the Year Awards and bronze in the Negotiator Awards 2015, both for the performance of its auction division, with Mr Bassi shortlisted for individual categories in both.
And he also managed to fit in a notable charity effort when he and a group of friends raised £20,532.59, dashing around all 20 Premier League grounds in 24 hours, in aid of Cancer Research.
