Manchester Arndale has achieved a merit at a national awards dinner for the shopping centre industry. The Purple Apple Marketing Awards, organised by national industry trade body, the British Council of Shopping Centres, are the only ones in the country that recognise and award successful marketing in shopping centres around the UK.
The merit was in recognition of an annual event created by the centre marketing team called Talking Shop, which helps stimulate ideas for creativity and customer service. The annual event delivers an interactive platform for store managers at Manchester Arndale to make sure they can provide the best customer service and shopping experience possible.
The event uses a celebrity host, this year being television personality Rylan Clark, and the building of a life-sized marketing plan to generate an injection of excitement and theatre to grasp retailers’ attention. The event incentivised retailers to engage as one team, working together to further improve customer experience at Manchester Arndale.
With the number of customers visiting Manchester increasing year on year, the centre continues to focus on maintaining the highest standards of service.
David Allinson, Centre Director at Manchester Arndale said:
“The Purple Apple awards recognise industry leading marketing strategies within UK shopping centres and we are honoured to have been awarded a merit. It shows all the hard work which has been put into making Manchester Arndale a top shopping location. Manchester Arndale remains at the heart of the local community and it is great to have brought all the store managers together to create an even better customer experience.”
Manchester Arndale is owned by M&G Real Estate and intu.
