Construction work has commenced on a 110,000 sq ft industrial warehouse within Ravensbank Business Park in Redditch, after logistics firm AMCO Services (International) Ltd selected the Acanthus Park site for their new build facility.
AMCO provide high-quality sequencing and logistics services to the automotive, defence, aerospace and FMGG (fast moving consumer goods) industries and already operate from another warehouse on the Ravensbank Business Park.
Completion of the building is expected by the end of 2016.
In addition to developing the AMCO building, specialist commercial property developer Hamdon Gate have announced the speculative build of a second warehouse unit on the Acanthus Park site, extending to 50,433 sq ft, with 10 metre clear internal height, two storey office/ancillary accommodation, five dock loading doors, two level access loading doors, 50Kn floor loading and secure gated yard.
Matthew Small, Hamdon Gate director, said: “This is a chance to lease a high specification warehouse in a prime location where opportunities are rare. The site has exceptional transport links and its central England location means it is ideal for businesses that need easy and quick access across the country.”
Lambert Smith Hampton, Jones Lang LaSalle, and John Truslove, are the agents appointed to market Unit 2.
Matthew Tilt, associate director in LSH Birmingham’s industrial agency, said he expected interest to be high: “This site is well known as one of the premium, easily accessible business parks in Redditch and there is a distinct shortage of good quality warehouses of this size across the West Midlands.”
“The development of these two units on Acanthus Park and the jobs generated as a result of the subsequent lettings will be another boost for Redditch and the surrounding areas.”
Acanthus Park is just four miles off the M42 (J3) via the A4023 and A435 dual carriageways. Existing occupiers on Ravensbank Business Park include Intier Automotive, Johnson Controls, Heller UK and the SP Group.
