Commercial property agent NG Chartered Surveyors is growing again after appointing James McArthur as director at its West Bridgford office.
James joins from Humberts where he was associate director – Head of Management. Before that he spent nine years as a surveyor in the management department at Innes England.
The appointment represents a major coup for NG as it continues to bolster its senior staff numbers.
At NG, James will handle a diverse portfolio of properties from individual retail and industrial units through to larger industrial estates and multi-occupied offices, dealing with all aspects of property management from rent collection, service charges, to planned maintenance programmes.
James said: “NG has an excellent reputation, when I was offered the role I knew instantly it was the right thing for me to do .
“I’m joining a fantastic team and I hope to not only bring NG new clients – but also new ideas to help NG to develop further. I have an in-depth knowledge of the local property market which will enable me to hit the ground running when I join NG.”
James studied law at university giving him a unique understanding of legal property matters.
He added: “I have always felt that, in order to deliver a high quality of service, being successful in the commercial property sector is all about good communication and building strong relationships, not only with clients but also with tenants, contractors, colleagues and other professionals that you deal
“It also about finding solutions to problems and taking away the management headache from our clients and at the same time maximising the return on their property assets.”

As well as the day to day management, James is also a registered valuer and deals with all professional matters such as lease renewals and rent reviews.
Outside of work James is married and has one child and is a frustrated golfer who is desperately trying to cure his slice and is prone to the odd 3 putt.
