Commercial law firm Gateley PLC have become the latest tenants to sign up for space at The Blade building, Reading.
The firm will take 7,235 sq ft on the top floor of the building from Landlord Aviva Investors acting for Aviva Life & Pensions (UK) Ltd., at a ground-breaking rent of £34 per square foot, the highest achieved within Reading in over 15 years.
The Blade building spans 110,000 sq ft over 13 floors and is so far 77% let. It sits within the centre of the town, less than a ten minute walk to Reading station, with excellent rail links into Central London.
Gateley PLC who already have offices across the UK, secured the top floor in fierce competition with another potential tenant in order to launch their new operation in which they will expand their services into Reading to widen their Thames Valley presence.
Knight Frank, Bray Fox Smith and Haslams acted on behalf of Aviva Investors. Haslams advised Gateley.
Julian Cobourne of Aviva Investors commented: “We are delighted to welcome Gateley to The Blade, another great tenant for a building which is attracting such a diverse range of occupiers”.
