Skanska has secured a pre-let of the ninth floor at The Monument Building, its 94,000 sqft (8,733 sqm) office-led development in the City of London.
City-based UnderwriteMe Technology Solutions Ltd has taken the property’s 5,779 sqft (537 sqm) ninth floor, on a ten-year lease.
Alex Jordan, Skanska’s Leasing Director, said: “This letting follows swiftly on the heels of the first pre-let to Twentyfour Asset Management, which was secured last week. Now the building is nearing completion, occupiers can truly see the quality of the scheme. The 9th floor offers an exceptional working environment with excellent levels of natural light and iconic views of Tower Bridge and the City.”
Work started on site at The Monument Building in December 2013 under the Workplaces by Skanska banner and has seen three separate buildings (11-15 Monument Street, 46 Fish Street Hill and 1-2 Pudding Lane) demolished and replaced with 90,000 sqft (8,361 sqm) of office space and 4,000 sqft (372 sqm) of ground-floor retail accommodation.
The Monument Building, designed by architect Ken Shuttleworth’s Make, features four terraces, a large reception area, state-of-the-art cycle storage and shower facilities. The building, which has recently been fitted with a ‘curtain’ of twisted, anodised aluminium fins on the south façade, will complete in June this year.
