Award-winning architectural practice, Corstorphine + Wright has opened a new regional office to support its growing portfolio of work in the south east.
Located on Stour Street in Canterbury’s business district, the office will be headed by Director Alistair Milne, and assisted by architect Rory Newell.
Alistair, who formerly ran his own practice, brings with him 15 years’ professional experience in a broad range of sectors, delivering projects of varying size and scale from early stages through to completion.
The new office is already active in delivering a number of projects in the south east region including ‘The Spirit of Sittingbourne’, Hammill Brickworks, Eversley Park, Kingsbridge and The Beer Cart Buildings, which are residential schemes in Kent for key client, Quinn Estates.
Alistair said: “This is an exciting time with a huge range of active projects underway throughout the region, with the residential market providing good growth opportunities. Being part of a company like Corstorphine + Wright allows us to contribute to and benefit from a national network of offices and expertise and I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that this role will bring”.
An Architects’ Journal Top 120 company, Corstorphine + Wright has existing offices in Warwick, Birmingham, London, Manchester, Dublin, Newcastle and Liverpool – with the opening of this latest office representing the company’s strategic desire to grow into new markets.
Michael Lampard, Director, Corstorphine + Wright, said: “This is a part of our strategy to expand our UK coverage and, with the level of development activity currently taking place in the south east, it represents a
great opportunity for us”.
“With our presence in the north, Midlands and London already well established, seeking a suitable location in the south east was a natural step for us, particularly as we are already active in the region on projects including Sittingbourne Science Park for Trinity Investment Management, Sainsbury’s at Herne Bay for Urban & Civic and a masterplan for Chatham Maritime Trust”.
Corstorphine + Wright offers a strong design-led ethos, operating across sectors from education and healthcare, to residential, commercial, retail and leisure.
