National landscaping firm Glendale has opened a new branch in Newport after securing refurbished space at Maesglas Industrial Estate in a deal brokered by leading property consultancy JLL.
JLL is the sole letting agent for the industrial estate, which is based one mile south of Newport city centre and lies within close proximity to Junction 28 of the M4 motorway. Some existing occupiers include The Royal Mail Group, Screwfix and Howden’s Joinery. There are currently three remaining units, each extending 2,130 sq ft (200 sq m), one of which has also been extensively refurbished.
Glendale has taken 2,130 sq ft of space at Maesglas Industrial Estate, which is managed by JLL. The ground floor space has been fitted out as industrial space with integral office and ancillary accommodation set over two floors. Glendale is currently operating from the unit.
Terry Doyle, regional director for Glendale in the South West and South Wales, comments: “Glendale is pleased to take over the lease of the unit at Maesglas Industrial Estate. The unit is perfectly suited to deliver our grounds and tree maintenance services for our clients in Newport and it is in an excellent location for our planned expansion into South Wales.”
Harriet Costello of JLL in Cardiff said: “The fact that Maesglas Industrial Estate is close to full occupancy is positive news for Newport’s industrial trade counter market. It also shows that demand for trade counter space remains high against a backdrop of short supply.”
Glendale currently has contracts throughout the United Kingdom within the public and private sectors, providing management and maintenance of the green environment.
