The Milton Keynes office of international accountancy firm Mazars has raised £700 for Sport Relief.
The firm’s staff have a strong history of contributing to the biennial event and this time chose to do so via a closely fought table tennis competition.
The contest proved so popular that neighbours in The Pinnacle building, law firm Dentons and Catapult Transport Systems, both got involved in the morning mixed and men’s doubles. Mazars’ audit team of Andy Border and Neel Jobanputra took the men’s doubles while Catapult beat Dentons in the mixed.
Mazars team continued to play throughout the afternoon and added to the fun by applying a handicapping system – the top two played with mini bats, the next two played left handed and the final two played with an eye patch. Claire Thompson and Chris Abel were victorious in the mixed with the men’s doubles title going to Ed Ratcliffe and Yusuf Dockrat.
The office also held a dress down day to add colour to the proceedings and raise further funds.
Mazars’ Tara Wooton, who helped organise the events, said: “It was great fun and all in a good cause. We felt it was important to do our bit.”
