The Morgan Quarter, Cardiff has been recognised for its unique contribution to Cardiff City Centre at the annual Cardiff Life Magazine awards. Both the Morgan Quarter and the neighbouring Creative Quarter were shortlisted as finalists in this prestigious competition with the Morgan Quarter going on to win the Special Achievement award for its support of Independent businesses.
Housed in the splendid Victorian architecture of the original David Morgan Department store, The Morgan Quarter is home to a plethora of exciting independent retailers which sit alongside established national brands such as Dr Martens, Urban Outfitters, Jack Wills and Joules.
The Creative Quarter sits above the Morgan Quarter, with individual studios situated in the old Morgan Arcade Chambers and the upper floors of the David Morgan Department store. It is already home to a rapidly growing community of businesses which range from design practices to tech companies and its recent string of new lettings puts the Creative Quarter at the heart of Cardiff’s flourishing creative community.
Blanche Longley of Landlord Helical Bar said ‘Cardiff City Centre is renowned for its beautiful Victorian shopping arcades and we are extremely proud that the Morgan Quarter has been commended for its contribution to both the retail and cultural experiences that the City Centre has to offer. ‘
Recent redevelopment of several of the Royal Arcade units has resulted in the availability of some exciting new opportunities within this flourishing community. Peter Clarke of joint agent Oscar Clarke said ‘We are delighted to be able to offer newly reconfigured and refurbished units within the Royal Arcade. This arcade, home to Wallys Delicatessen and Rossiters, connects The Hayes with St Mary St and enjoys excellent footfall.’
