Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Jon Ely to lead its Wales & South West Rating team, based in Cardiff.
Jon, who joins as an Associate Director, will provide rating advice on specialist industrial and other properties nationwide.
With more than nine years of experience in the sector, Jon joins Cushman & Wakefield from the industrial rating team at Gerald Eve LLP where he advised industrial clients and occupiers of specialist properties. He has dealt with properties ranging from chemical and steel works to airports and wind farms.
Jon Ely said: “I am delighted to join Cushman & Wakefield to head up its highly respected Wales & South West Rating team. I look forward to working closely with my new colleagues across all skill lines to explore new business opportunities and provide our clients with the best possible rating advice.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s Rating team is active across the UK, providing services to both occupiers and investors. Since the last revaluation in 2010, the team has authorised and made rate payments totalling more than £2 billion and generated in excess of £200 million rate savings for clients.
Mike Flecknoe, Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Rating team, commented: “Jon’s experience will complement the existing strong team, increasing the range of specialist rating advice we are able to offer our clients both now and following the forthcoming 2017 Revaluation. His appointment confirms our position as a leading rating consultant in Wales & South West and within the specialist industrial sector.”
Cushman & Wakefield has begun the year with an influx of talent across the country. These include the appointments of David Smeeton as Senior Director and Head of Investment for its Birmingham office, Ian Thompson, a former Director of the South West Regional Development Agency to its UK Public Sector Advisory team and Adam Pyrke joining as a Director in the Planning team in London.
