The vision for Circle Square, the dynamic, collaborative and connected new neighbourhood in Corridor Manchester, will be the topic of a discussion at MIPIM 2016, led by internationally-renowned urban expert Bruce Katz, the inaugural Centennial Scholar at the Brookings Institution, a public policy think tank based in Washington DC.
Circle Square, by joint venture partners Bruntwood and Select Property Group, has been chosen by Marketing Manchester and RIBA to be presented to the global audience at MIPIM 2016, as one of the best examples of a 21st century new neighbourhood.
It will be the topic of an hour-long debate at MIPIM on March 16, between 10.30am and 11.30pm (GMT) at Palais des Festivals, Manchester Stand, P1.A1.
The discussion will be introduced by Stephen Hodder (RIBA) and guided by global urbanisation expert, Bruce Katz, who will be joined by Bruntwood’s CEO, Chris Oglesby, and Select’s chief development officer, Ken Knott, as well as Keith Bradley from Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios and Ed Lister of Planit-IE LLP.
The panel discussion will explore Circle Square’s vision, striking design and place making credentials to define what makes this new space within the city so unique.
Select and Bruntwood are part of a record Manchester delegation of 99 organisations attending MIPIM 2016, the world’s largest international property market event.
Manchester’s emergence as a leading world city is being driven by a combination of economic, cultural, educational and transport infrastructure development along with extensive place making partnerships such as Bruntwood and Select’s joint venture at Circle Square.
Circle Square is set to be one of the largest new spaces in the city centre at c. 2.3million sq ft. The new neighbourhood, at the heart of Corridor Manchester innovation district, will include homes, shops, bars, restaurants and a large open green space that will have a multitude of uses for events as well as outdoor seating on the green, to be enjoyed by all those who live, work and spend their leisure time there.
