Darlington Architectural Practice ADG Architects has completed a new storage facility for Newton Aycliffe lawn mower manufacturer Husqvarna, to help with its increased demand for the Automower range, along with an increase in its temporary workforce from 550 to 650, with plans already submitted for phase Two.
Jeff Blackwell, Partner at ADG Architects, designed and oversaw the construction of the new 1,275 sq m storage facility which will provide additional space to help Husqvarna with the increased production of its Automower and Flymo lawnmowers in the busy Summer period.
Plans have just been submitted by ADG Architects for a further storage facility of 1,380 sq m at Husqvarna’s manufacturing facility on Aycliffe Business Park.
Mr Blackwell has worked with Husqvarna for a number of years, advising on the design and development of its Newton Aycliffe factory. He said: “Husqvarna’s rapid expansion has brought the need for these new facilities. We are delighted to play our role in helping a major manufacturer grow and bring new jobs to the local economy.”
