Expanding architecture firm, LK2 Architects Ltd, has appointed two new members to its team – RIBA Part 1 architectural assistant James Pinkney and senior architectural technologist Natalie Battye.
Natalie is trained in architectural technology and building design and will support LK2’s exciting flagship schemes such as Buttermarket shopping centre in Ipswich, while James will be a key assistant to the firm’s architects.
Natalie’s portfolio of experience extends globally and she has worked for architecture firms in Ireland and Australia. In her previous roles, Natalie has delivered projects across a number of sectors, such as sport, recreation, education and retail.
Natalie said, “LK2 is a vibrant and unique firm and I am delighted to have joined its growing team. My speciality of architectural technology will allow me to support a number of LK2’s schemes, providing design solutions on its leading leisure and sport projects, as well as its urban extensions.
“In my previous roles, I have been part of innovative projects such as shopping centres and sport facilities – both of which are at the core of LK2’s growing portfolio of work. I am pleased to be joining such a talented and experienced team at LK2 that aligns so well with my expertise.”
RIBA Part 1 architectural assistant James has joined LK2 following his time at Northumbria University where he achieved a BA second class honours in architecture. As architectural assistant, James will be supporting LK2’s senior architects in developing designs and concepts for clients.
He said: “I cannot wait to become a key part of the well-respected LK2 team. I have previously had work experience at both an architecture firm and with a contractor – meaning I have a clear understanding of how projects are designed and built.”
Andrew Kitchen, director at LK2, said: “We welcome both Natalie and James to our team who will further bolster the service we offer our clients. We have continued to develop and extend our growing portfolio and having an additional expert such as Natalie and an up and coming architect like James join us reflects this.
“Last year marked a lot of exciting change for us – we opened our London office and hired a number of additional experts into our team. Having Natalie and James join us shows a continued momentum of growth which we will maintain throughout 2016.”
LK2 has a varied skill set – working on projects ranging from residential and office to the development of town centres and large sports facilities.
