intu and M&G Real Estate have secured a run of lettings at Manchester Arndale.
Amongst the new brands at Manchester Arndale is fashion retailer Miss Selfridge with a 1,700 sq ft store, located within a unit currently leased to the fashion retailer’s parent company Arcadia. Other new names include Lindt and Radley, both taking 1,000 sq ft stores on 10-year leases. With only eight other stores in total across the UK, all of which are in factory outlets, Lindt’s letting at Manchester Arndale will be the brand’s first shopping centre opening as it grows its physical presence at the heart of the country’s most popular city centres. Fruitero is the final new name taking a 150 sq ft store.
Costa has taken a further store at 28 Market Street on a 10 year lease. This unit will give Costa a greater presence, supplementing its café currently trading within Manchester Arndale’s flagship Next store.
Hotel Chocolat has relocated, moving to a 1,100 sq ft unit and committing to another 10 years at the centre.
Kannika Mall, Asset Manager, M&G Real Estate comments on behalf of the joint owners:
“Manchester is seeing unprecedented growth, and our active asset management strategy ensures Manchester Arndale can fulfil requirements from retailers keen to capitalise on this growth and increase their presence in the North West. Manchester’s status as one of the UK’s leading retail hotspots is firmly in place and, with an annual footfall of approximately 41 million, Manchester Arndale is central to this success. We have welcomed many UK and international brands in 2015 and we expect continued interest in the few available units this year.”
Manchester Arndale is one of Europe’s largest inner city shopping centres. It is owned jointly by M&G Real Estate and intu. The retained agents are JLL and Metis Real Estate Advisors.
