Cushman & Wakefield has successfully let more than 31,000 sq ft of warehousing and office space to Network Rail Infrastructure Limited which it plans to use as an operations base as it continues work on the electrification of the Great Western Mainline.
Acting for Delyn Properties LLP, Cushman & Wakefield was appointed as the sole agent to oversee the letting of the 31,429 sq ft unit on Moy Road Industrial Estate, Taffs Well. The property was chosen due to its strong transport links, strategic location close to the M4 and the A470, and the owner’s flexibility to meet Network Rail’s requirements for access.
The space was previously let to Rhys Davies Logistics which has relocated to larger premises, formerly operated by the now defunct City Link.
Chris Yates from Cushman & Wakefield’s Cardiff office, said: “After City Link went into administration at the end of 2014, Rhys Davies Logistics saw the opportunity to expand and move to a larger nearby premises. Delyn Properties recognised the potential of the vacated property on Moy Road and received strong interest from a number of potential tenants. The completion of the deal represents a very positive step for both Delyn Properties LLP and Network Rail, which now has additional operational space from which to facilitate the ongoing electrification of the rail line from Swansea to London.”
